History

Ukrainian Casting Company is the youngest enterprise of the industrial group UPEC. Ukrainian Casting Company, the specialized complex of iron and steel casting, was created on the basis of casting and mold-making shops of “Kharkiv Machine Tool Plant” in 2004.

Specialization

The specialized complex of iron and steel casting is capacities of Ukrainian Casting Company, Ltd. The competitive advantage of the company is capability to produce casting of any complexity, weighing out of which is from 500 grams up to 20 tons from gray cast iron and from 500 grams up to one ton from high strength cast iron and steel due to existing sets of technological equipment.

The unique peculiarity of the casting complex is personnel manufacturing potential of the enterprise that has managed to keep the traditions of machine tool industry, which were established many years ago.

Production facilities

The casting complex consists of several areas and lines.

Area of light casting specialized in sandy-argillaceous mixtures – weight of castings is from 0,5 kg up to 25 kg. Intermediate area where the forms on the basis of soluble-glass mixtures are produced – weighing out of castings is from 25 kg to 2 tons.

Castings from 2 up to 20 tons are produced at heavy casting area. It is equipped with sand slinger that gives opportunity to produce castings in the form of moulding both in soil, and casting boxes. Forms are produced from sand-argillaceous mixtures with further drying and painting. Rods are produced from cold hardening mixtures

The forming line for cold hardening mixtures is intended for production of casting forms and rods, weight of which is up to 2 tons from cold hardening mixtures using alpha-set process technology. This line was created by the specialists of the company by means of reconstruction of the rod line Ë100Õ. Productivity of the line is 15-20 moldings per hour.

The casting area used for gasifiable patterns is intended for producing castings of complicated configuration, weighing out of which is up to 20 kg from gray high strength cast iron and steel. This method of casting allows obtaining high accuracy castings, i.e. it is at 4-5 classes of accuracy higher, than castings produced in sand argillaceous form. Surface roughness is being approached to casting indices according to melt patterns, in particular Rz 60-80.

Right separation consists of the set of cupolas, capacity of which is three and ten tons per hour. Nowadays, two induction casting furnaces (the firm “EGES”) – have been produced in Turkey and each of them has such productivity as 1 ton per hour – were established and put into operation at the Casting company. The furnaces are intended for smelting of gray high strength cast iron and steel.

Industrial complex also embraces fettling department and department of final operations, laboratories of forming and rod mixtures control, mechanical tests and rapid analysis of metal chemistry.

Mold-making shop specializes in production of wooden and metal models for needs of own production.

Results of activity

According to the results of 2006, net income of the enterprise was 31 mln UAH that exceeds the results of 2005 in 4 times. In 2007, Ukrainian Casting Company is going to increase sales volume in two times, up to 60 mln UAH, in comparison with last year.
