History

The enterprise is founded in 1992 on the basis of mechanical plant “Oruzheinik”, and in 1938 it was formed into independent legal entity – Kharkov Electrical Engineering Plant. Since autumn 2001, it belongs to the industrial group UPEC. More than seventy years of successful work on domestic and foreign markets strengthened the leader positions in domestic electrical engineering field.

Specialization

HELZ is the biggest producer of induction electric motors and rich model range of electric pumps in Ukraine. It produces more than 5 thousand structural, electric, climatic and assembly types of electric engines for all industries and agricultural complex, and also wide assortment of electric pumps. At the present moment, HELZ is the single enterprise in Ukraine that mastered all ranges of electric engines (low and average heights).

Another important enterprise activity is production of wide assortment of electric pumps that have different sphere of application. There are centrifugal surface, submersible (drain), borehole pumps and automatic pump installations on the basis of jet-type centrifugal pumps among them. The enterprise also produces pumps manufactured together with the leading European producer.

Production facilities of the plant: about 50 thousand electro-technical products per month.

Products of the enterprise are in great demand almost in all industries and agricultural sector; they are applied in metallurgy, machine tool industry, light and food industries, and also in agricultural production.

Production facilities

The enterprise has the closed production cycle that consists of forging, casting, winding, assembling, testing, and packaging production. The enterprise has its own scientific design department "Ukrelectromash".

The own tool shop provides designing and production of all necessary technological set: stamps, press tools, special cutting and measuring tool and devices. There is area of spark erosion in the shop, where treatment of details from hard alloy is fulfilled, in particular such details as press tools and stamps.

Production cycle begins in preparation shops. Stator and rotor of electric engine are produced in forging-winding shop. The shop is equipped with presses for magnetic conductor sheet forging that is realized by means of caliper gage semiautomatic machines for assembling stator core. The lines for mechanical winding and machines for stator automatic soaking work in the shop.

In shop of nonferrous castings, machines for casting under pressure work, where castings (weight up to 10 kg) are produced. Machine-assembly department is equipped with automatic lines for mechanical treatment of shaft, rotor, turning numerically controlled machine tools.

Recognition of quality

Since December 2002, quality system that corresponds to requirements of international quality standard ISO-9001:2001 has been being used at HELZ. The certified quality system is valid for finished product, intermediate operations as for observing geometry of products and electric parameters, and incoming control of all materials. In 2005, the enterprise was a laureate of national contest “Vyshcha Proba” (The Highest Standard), and electrotechnical product (trade mark HELZ) was awarded with Ukrainian quality mark “Vyshcha Proba” (The highest Standard).
