New high-tech equipment was putted into operation in Harverst
JSC Kharkov Kosior Machine-Tool Building Plant (Harverst), one of the largest CIS manufacturers of roll and circular grinders, which is the part of the Industrial Group UPEC, putted into operation German high-tech mechanical processing equipment, valued at ?2 million.
As Vladimir Kokhanov, director of IG UPEC Machine-Tool Building Division, informed, the enterprise finished the next stage of the complex modernization program after start-up of two mill turners Monforts, three vertical mill centers Chiron and surface grinding precision high-accuracy machine Blohm.
“New equipment will allow to change qualitatively the manufacturing technology of roll and circular grinders parts, to raise the labour productivity, to reduce the ratio of labour output and power consumption, to optimize the quantity of the basic and auxiliary industrial personnel”, - said V. Kokhanov.
Harverst general director Vladimir Parfyonov emphasizes that all new machines are connected to the uniform information network of the enterprise that allow to make the centralized data input for details processing from the workplace of the programmer. V. Parfyonov underlined that production capacities modernization of the enterprise combined smoothly with the realization of Integrated Automation System program (ÊÑÀ-2008) at all enterprises of IG UPEC. This program provides the modernization and replenishment of computer hardware, installation of software products on the base of Pro/Engineer software and specialists training with software work.
The purchase of new mechanical processing equipment is the part of the complex investment program of Harverst re-equipment, the total cost of this program is estimated approximately in $15 million. Program assumes the full renovation of production technology: from designing products on the base of modern software up to the manufacturing of the final products on the updated production capacities.
UPEC management considers that the implementation of the given program will allow Harverst to keep the leading position in CIS market of heavy duty circular and roll grinders manufacturing for metallurgy, grinding equipment for machine building, and also to represent its products in the European and Asian markets more actively.
JSC Kharkov Kosior Machine-Tool Building Plant (Kharverst) was put into operation in 1936. For the years of plant operation, there were produced more than 90 thousand equipment items of more than 600 different models. The produced equipment was delivered to 41 countries, including the USA, Italy, France, Belgium, Japan, China, India, Great Britain. The enterprise focuses on production of equipment for metallurgical plants, enterprises of heavy and middle engineering, engine building, shipbuilding, and also for light, food, automotive, tractor-building, and bearing industries. About 600 persons work at the enterprise.
The Industrial Group UPEC (IG UPEC) is one of the biggest CIS suppliers of components, assemblies and equipment to railway, automotive, agricultural, machine-building and metallurgical industries. Among its customers are almost all OEMs in the CIS countries.
IG UPEC was established in 1995 and now develops as engineering customer-oriented industrial group.
UPEC has the following areas of activity:
- production of components for railway and automotive transport – JSC Kharkov Bearing Plant (HARP), Oskol Bearing Plant HARP, Lozovsky Forging-Mechanical Plant Ltd (LKMZ), Ukrainian Casting Company Ltd (ULK);
- electrotechnics – JSC Kharkov Electrical Engineering Plant Ukrelectromash (HELZ);
- machine-tool building – JSC Kharkov Kosior Machine-Tool Building Plant Kharverst.
Industrial Group UPEC also has a number of other enterprises in the sphere of its management. The consolidated sales volume of the Industrial Group averaged UAH 1,25 billion. in 2008.
